Salem Elks Lodge #305
Salem Elks Lodge #305 was originated on Flag Day, June 14th, 1895 and the charter was approved at the Grand Lodge session on July 11th, 1895. On June 14th, 2020 the lodge will celebrate our 125th Anniversary. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 virus, the celebration will be minimal. In time, this will pass and allow us to commemorate this important event in our history.
Our lodge has been housed in 3 different buildings. The current building opened in April 1926 and is one of the few Grand Old Elks buildings in the country with its Roman columns and large staircase leading to our Ballroom.
The Salem Super Cruise is held every year in June. Antique, muscle cars and hot rods cruise the downtown streets Friday & Saturday. They park at the Salem city parking lot for viewers to enjoy looking at the cars and talking to the owners. If you have a chance, stop by our lodge, sit on the porch and watch the cars go by!
Lodge Amenities
Our Lodge building has 3 floors. The first floor (some might say is a basement) houses our Members Lounge, Kitchen and Grill room. The second floor houses our Lodge/Ballroom with high ceilings, original chandeliers and a massive painting of an Elk with all its grandeur. The third floor was used in the past for a men's game room and a ladies parlor each on their own perspective sides. The men and the women only co-mingled on the porch, which has since been closed in. Currently those rooms are used for storage and decorations. Other lodge amenities include:

Large ballroom available for rent (200 person capacity)
Large grill room (seats up to 75 people)
Lodge Meetings
Regular lodge meetings are held every 2nd Thursday of the month, except in July when the meeting is held on the 3rd Thursday and in February, March, and April when meetings are held the 2nd and 4th Thursdays. Lodge meetings begin at 8:00 PM and are open to all Elks in good standing.
Board of Director's Meetings
Trustee Meetings are held at 7:30 PM the Monday prior to the Lodge meetings. The Board of Directors meetings follow the trustee meetings at 8:00 PM.
